Look at all my girls coming out of the woodwork and joining the beer love! Awesome!
Scott, I'm definitely going to get the chocolate stout again and give it a try. Stouts are my very favorite style of beer!
Lori, We definitely must go back!
Sebbie, Thanks so much for your comment! I love knowing a little bit history behind the brews and how they are made.

Thanks for the shout out to Rogue Ales! Mocha Porter is roasted to the flavor of chocolate, but the Chocolate Stout has real bittersweet chocolate added to the base beer, which is Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout.

The new Chatoe series release is Dirtoir Black Lager which has notes of chocolate from the dark roasted barley (as does the Morimoto Black Obi Soba Ale). Both are lighter bodied beers, with lots of flavor and a nice balance of hops & malts. Rogue Ales has a hop and barley farm in Oregon -- the Chatoe series uses our Grown Your Own ingredients.

Check out my blog, www.RogueChocolateStout.com -- being the face on the bottle, I post recipes, reviews, news, events where its being poured, etc!

I think the first time I really tried Rogue was out in SF too. I loved that chocolate stout. I do agree that you have to be in the mood to drink it though. So heavy and filling, but delicious. I too, regret the decision that we skipped over that place. Just means we gotta go back!

Isn't the new beer section at Kroger amazing? I'm dying to "make my own sixpack" next time I go

Thanks for the review, you might just convince me to join the "dark side"

You crack me up. I, too, love Morimoto. I can't have chocolate anymore, sadly, but this looks darn good!
