Mel, You can totally make mashed potatoes ahead of time! But that's another tip for another day.

Lori, So true! We actually started having our big dinner earlier in the day so that frees up more time for relaxing. I love cooking but I want to enjoy the day and just hang out too!

Lynn, It's just the two of us at the HQ but I still plan like crazy cause I'm type A like that.

DianaH, Cranberry sauce for sure can be made early! If it's made the day before, it can also be used for breakfast that morning.

Thanks for the tips, some of them are ones that I wouldn't have remembered. I know that my mother even told me that you can make mashed potatoes ahead of time, just don't add the milk or butter.

Totally agree. Making ahead is the key to enjoying more time relaxing for me. I don't like the whole day to be about cooking in the kitchen, although I do love cooking.

Glad you are feeling better. I've been hearing lots of people out and about talking about a stomach bug going around.
